Health insurance in California is legitimately complicated... Covered California, Medicare, Medi-Cal, subsidies, networks, plan years. We built this entire site (1,400+ pages of free information) and a growing YouTube channel around one idea: make it understandable. That's it.

Meet the team
Dennis Jarvis, Principal
Dennis is the person behind most of what you read on CalHealth.net, and the face behind the YouTube channel that has grown to 5,000+ subscribers in just two years. His approach is the same whether it's a video, an article, or a phone call: take something genuinely confusing and make it actually make sense.
He has been a licensed California health insurance agent since July 1999... before the ACA even existed. He has seen every major shift this industry has gone through and helped thousands of Californians through all of them. Dennis is licensed across all major California carriers (Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Kaiser, Health Net, Aetna) and is a Certified Covered California agent, so he compares them objectively and tells you which one actually makes sense for you.
Outside of work, Dennis has been married to Andrea since 1999 and is the father of two. The conversational, no-jargon approach you see across this site is just how he talks.
Andrea Goodacre-Jarvis, Co-Founder
Andrea founded what is now Goodacre Insurance Services Corp. back in 1994, starting her insurance career as a female business owner at a time when that was not nearly as common as it is today. She built the foundation that CalHealth.net stands on.
With over 30 years in California health insurance, Andrea has the kind of experience that is genuinely hard to find... pre-ACA, post-ACA, Covered California's 2014 launch, COVID-era enrollment changes, and everything in between. When a client has a complicated situation, Andrea has probably seen something similar before. She holds a California Insurance Producer license in Accident & Health and Life and is a Certified Covered California agent.
Alexander Jarvis, Agent
Alexander is the newest addition to the family agency, and he brings something genuinely different. He grew up watching his parents explain health insurance to real people for 25+ years, so the subject matter is in his DNA... but he also came up in the era of YouTube and digital content, so he approaches "how do we make this understandable" from a completely different angle.
Alexander earned his California Insurance Producer license in July 2024 (Accident & Health and Life). He works directly with clients and plays a key role in CalHealth.net's video and content production. If you're a younger Californian navigating health insurance for the first time, Alexander gets where you're coming from... he's been there recently himself.
